  1. v0.6.4 (2011-??-??)
  2. * Various performance improvements (15% ~ 25%) especially when dealing with
  3. long multibulk replies or when using clustered connections.
  4. v0.6.3 (2011-01-01)
  5. * New commands available in the Redis v2.2 profile (dev):
  6. - Strings: SETRANGE, GETRANGE, SETBIT, GETBIT
  7. - Lists : BRPOPLPUSH
  8. * The abstraction for MULTI/EXEC transactions has been dramatically improved
  9. by providing support for check-and-set (CAS) operations when using Redis >=
  10. 2.2. Aborted transactions can also be optionally replayed in automatic up
  11. to a user-defined number of times, after which a Predis\AbortedMultiExec
  12. exception is thrown.
  13. v0.6.2 (2010-11-28)
  14. * Minor internal improvements and clean ups.
  15. * New commands available in the Redis v2.2 profile (dev):
  16. - Strings: STRLEN
  17. - Lists : LINSERT, RPUSHX, LPUSHX
  18. - ZSets : ZREVRANGEBYSCORE
  19. - Misc. : PERSIST
  20. * WATCH also accepts a single array parameter with the keys that should be
  21. monitored during a transaction.
  22. * Improved the behaviour of Predis\MultiExecBlock in certain corner cases.
  23. * Improved parameters checking for the SORT command.
  24. * FIX: the STORE parameter for the SORT command didn't work correctly when
  25. using '0' as the target key (ISSUE #13).
  26. * FIX: the methods for UNWATCH and DISCARD do not break anymore method
  27. chaining with Predis\MultiExecBlock.
  28. v0.6.1 (2010-07-11)
  29. * Minor internal improvements and clean ups.
  30. * New commands available in the Redis v2.2 profile (dev):
  31. - Misc. : WATCH, UNWATCH
  32. * Optional modifiers for ZRANGE, ZREVRANGE and ZRANGEBYSCORE queries are
  33. supported using an associative array passed as the last argument of their
  34. respective methods.
  35. * The LIMIT modifier for ZRANGEBYSCORE can be specified using either:
  36. - an indexed array: array($offset, $count)
  37. - an associative array: array('offset' => $offset, 'count' => $count)
  38. * The method Predis\Client::__construct() now accepts also instances of
  39. Predis\ConnectionParameters.
  40. * Predis\MultiExecBlock and Predis\PubSubContext now throw an exception
  41. when trying to create their instances using a profile that does not
  42. support the required Redis commands or when the client is connected to
  43. a cluster of connections.
  44. * Various improvements to Predis\MultiExecBlock:
  45. - fixes and more consistent behaviour across various usage cases.
  46. - support for WATCH and UNWATCH when using the current development
  47. profile (Redis v2.2) and aborted transactions.
  48. * New signature for Predis\Client::multiExec() which is now able to accept
  49. an array of options for the underlying instance of Predis\MultiExecBlock.
  50. Backwards compatibility with previous releases of Predis is ensured.
  51. * New signature for Predis\Client::pipeline() which is now able to accept
  52. an array of options for the underlying instance of Predis\CommandPipeline.
  53. Backwards compatibility with previous releases of Predis is ensured.
  54. The method Predis\Client::pipelineSafe() is to be considered deprecated.
  55. * FIX: The WEIGHT modifier for ZUNIONSTORE and ZINTERSTORE was handled
  56. incorrectly with more than two weights specified.
  57. v0.6.0 (2010-05-24)
  58. * Switched to the new multi-bulk request protocol for all of the commands
  59. in the Redis 1.2 and Redis 2.0 profiles. Inline and bulk requests are now
  60. deprecated as they will be removed in future releases of Redis.
  61. * The default server profile is "2.0" (targeting Redis 2.0.x). If you are
  62. using older versions of Redis, it is highly recommended that you specify
  63. which server profile the client should use (e.g. "1.2" when connecting
  64. to instances of Redis 1.2.x).
  65. * Support for Redis 1.0 is now optional and it is provided by requiring
  66. 'Predis_Compatibility.php' before creating an instance of Predis\Client.
  67. * New commands added to the Redis 2.0 profile since Predis 0.5.1:
  68. - Strings: SETEX, APPEND, SUBSTR
  69. - ZSets : ZCOUNT, ZRANK, ZUNIONSTORE, ZINTERSTORE, ZREMBYRANK, ZREVRANK
  70. - Hashes : HSET, HSETNX, HMSET, HINCRBY, HGET, HMGET, HDEL, HEXISTS,
  71. HLEN, HKEYS, HVALS, HGETALL
  72. - PubSub : PUBLISH, SUBSCRIBE, UNSUBSCRIBE
  73. - Misc. : DISCARD, CONFIG
  74. * Introduced client-level options with the new Predis\ClientOptions class.
  75. Options can be passed to Predis\Client::__construct in its second argument
  76. as an array or an instance of Predis\ClientOptions. For brevity's sake and
  77. compatibility with older versions, the constructor of Predis\Client still
  78. accepts an instance of Predis\RedisServerProfile in its second argument.
  79. The currently supported client options are:
  80. - profile [default: "2.0" as of Predis 0.6.0]
  81. specifies which server profile to use when connecting to Redis. This
  82. option accepts an instance of Predis\RedisServerProfile or a string
  83. that indicates the target version.
  84. - key_distribution [default: Predis\Distribution\HashRing]
  85. specifies which key distribution strategy to use to distribute keys
  86. among the servers that compose a cluster. This option accepts an
  87. instance of Predis\Distribution\IDistributionStrategy so that users
  88. can implement their own key distribution strategy. Optionally, the new
  89. Predis\Distribution\KetamaPureRing class also provides a pure-PHP
  90. implementation of the same algorithm used by libketama.
  91. - throw_on_error [default: TRUE]
  92. server errors can optionally be handled "silently": instead of throwing
  93. an exception, the client returns an error response type.
  94. - iterable_multibulk [EXPERIMENTAL - default: FALSE]
  95. in addition to the classic way of fetching a whole multibulk reply
  96. into an array, the client can now optionally stream a multibulk reply
  97. down to the user code by using PHP iterators. It is just a little bit
  98. slower, but it can save a lot of memory in certain scenarios.
  99. * New parameters for connections:
  100. - alias [default: not set]
  101. every connection can now be identified by an alias that is useful to
  102. get a certain connection when connected to a cluster of Redis servers.
  103. - weight [default: not set]
  104. allows the client to balance the keys asymmetrically across multiple
  105. servers. This might be useful when you have servers with different
  106. amounts of memory and you want to distribute the load of your keys
  107. accordingly.
  108. - connection_async [default: FALSE]
  109. estabilish connections to servers in a non-blocking way, so that the
  110. client is not blocked while the underlying resource performs the actual
  111. connection.
  112. - connection_persistent [default: FALSE]
  113. the underlying connection resource is left open when a script ends its
  114. lifecycle. Persistent connections can lead to unpredictable or strange
  115. behaviours, so they should be used with extreme care.
  116. * Introduced the Predis\Pipeline\IPipelineExecutor interface. Classes that
  117. implements this interface are used internally by the Predis\CommandPipeline
  118. class to change the behaviour of the pipeline when writing/reading commands
  119. from one or multiple servers. Here is the list of the default executors:
  120. - Predis\Pipeline\StandardExecutor
  121. Exceptions generated by server errors might be thrown depending on the
  122. options passed to the client (see "throw_on_error"). Instead, protocol
  123. or network errors always throw exceptions. This is the default executor
  124. for single and clustered connections and shares the same behaviour of
  125. Predis 0.5.x.
  126. - Predis\Pipeline\SafeExecutor
  127. Exceptions generated by server, protocol or network errors are not
  128. thrown, instead they are returned in the response array as instances of
  129. ResponseError or CommunicationException.
  130. - Predis\Pipeline\SafeClusterExecutor
  131. This executor shares the same behaviour of Predis\Pipeline\SafeExecutor
  132. but it is geared towards clustered connections.
  133. * Support for PUBSUB is handled by the new Predis\PubSubContext class, which
  134. could also be used to build a callback dispatcher for PUBSUB scenarios.
  135. * When connected to a cluster of connections, it is now possible to get a
  136. new Predis\Client instance for a single connection of the cluster by
  137. passing its alias/index to the new Predis\Client::getClientFor() method.
  138. * CommandPipeline and MultiExecBlock return their instances when invoking
  139. commands, thus allowing method chaining in pipelines and multi-exec blocks.
  140. * MultiExecBlock instances can handle the new DISCARD command.
  141. * Connections now support float values for the connection_timeout parameter
  142. to express timeouts with a microsecond resolution.
  143. * FIX: TCP connections now respect the read/write timeout parameter when
  144. reading the payload of server responses. Previously, stream_get_contents()
  145. was being used internally to read data from a connection but it looks like
  146. PHP does not honour the specified timeout for socket streams when inside
  147. this function.
  148. * FIX: The GET parameter for the SORT command now accepts also multiple key
  149. patterns by passing an array of strings. (ISSUE #1).
  150. * FIX: Replies to the DEL command return the number of elements deleted by
  151. the server and not 0 or 1 interpreted as a boolean response. (ISSUE #4).
  152. v0.5.1 (2010-01-23)
  153. * RPOPLPUSH has been changed from bulk command to inline command in Redis
  154. 1.2.1, so ListPopLastPushHead now extends InlineCommand. The old RPOPLPUSH
  155. behavior is still available via the ListPopLastPushHeadBulk class so that
  156. you can override the server profile if you need the old (and uncorrect)
  157. behaviour when connecting to a Redis 1.2.0 instance.
  158. * Added missing support for BGREWRITEAOF for Redis >= 1.2.0
  159. * Implemented a factory method for the RedisServerProfile class to ease the
  160. creation of new server profile instances based on a version string.
  161. v0.5.0 (2010-01-09)
  162. * First versioned release of Predis
