  1. v0.7.0 (2010-xx-xx)
  2. * Support for long aliases (method names) for Redis commands has been dropped.
  3. * List of the methods removed in this release:
  4. - Predis\Client::create()
  5. This method has been removed because it was considered redundant
  6. with Predis\Client::__construct() since Predis 0.6.0.
  7. - Predis\Client::pipelineSafe()
  8. This method was deprecated in Predis 0.6.1 and now it has been finally
  9. removed. Use Predis\Client::pipeline(array('safe' => true)).
  10. - Predis\Client::rawCommand()
  11. This method was removed due to interface inconsistencies with the
  12. underlying connection class used internally by the client instance.
  13. - Predis\Client::setProfile()
  14. This method is no more part of the public API and has been made private.
  15. * Predis now includes its own autoloader. To use it, include Autoloader.php
  16. and call Predis\Autoloader::register().
  17. * The Predis\MultiBulkCommand class has been merged into Predis\Command and
  18. thus removed. If you have code that extends Predis\MultiBulkCommand but
  19. you can not afford to update your code, you can always implement it again
  20. as an abstract class simply by extending Predis\Command.
  21. * The Predis\IConnection interface has been splitted in two different new
  22. interfaces: Predis\IConnectionSingle and Predis\IConnectionCluster.
  23. * Developers can now register their own classes that implements the
  24. Predis\IConnectionSingle interface to handle different URI schemes such as
  25. 'tcp', 'unix', 'udp' or anything else. Everything is handled by the new
  26. Predis\ConnectionFactory class.
  27. * Added support for UNIX domain sockets (supported by Redis 2.2) with the new
  28. Predis\UnixDomainSocketConnection class and the 'unix' scheme.
  29. * Added the new Predis\ICommand interface. The Predis\Command class now
  30. implements this interface that is used in the core bits of Predis.
  31. * Implicit extraction of arguments when the only argument passed to a
  32. multibulk command is an array is not supported anymore and must be done
  33. explicitly inside Predis\Command::filterArguments().
  34. * It is now possible to pass instances of Predis\ConnectionParameters and
  35. Predis\IConnection as parameters of Predis\Client::__construct().
  36. v0.6.5 (2011-02-12)
  37. * FIX: due to an untested internal change introduced in v0.6.4, a wrong
  38. handling of bulk reads of zero-length values was producing protocol
  39. desynchronization errors (ISSUE #20).
  40. v0.6.4 (2011-02-12)
  41. * Various performance improvements (15% ~ 25%) especially when dealing with
  42. long multibulk replies or when using clustered connections.
  43. * Added the "on_retry" option to Predis\MultiExecBlock that can be used to
  44. specify an external callback (or any callable object) that gets invoked
  45. whenever a transaction is aborted by the server.
  46. * Added inline (p)subscribtion via options when initializing an instance of
  47. Predis\PubSubContext.
  48. v0.6.3 (2011-01-01)
  49. * New commands available in the Redis v2.2 profile (dev):
  50. - Strings: SETRANGE, GETRANGE, SETBIT, GETBIT
  51. - Lists : BRPOPLPUSH
  52. * The abstraction for MULTI/EXEC transactions has been dramatically improved
  53. by providing support for check-and-set (CAS) operations when using Redis >=
  54. 2.2. Aborted transactions can also be optionally replayed in automatic up
  55. to a user-defined number of times, after which a Predis\AbortedMultiExec
  56. exception is thrown.
  57. v0.6.2 (2010-11-28)
  58. * Minor internal improvements and clean ups.
  59. * New commands available in the Redis v2.2 profile (dev):
  60. - Strings: STRLEN
  61. - Lists : LINSERT, RPUSHX, LPUSHX
  62. - ZSets : ZREVRANGEBYSCORE
  63. - Misc. : PERSIST
  64. * WATCH also accepts a single array parameter with the keys that should be
  65. monitored during a transaction.
  66. * Improved the behaviour of Predis\MultiExecBlock in certain corner cases.
  67. * Improved parameters checking for the SORT command.
  68. * FIX: the STORE parameter for the SORT command didn't work correctly when
  69. using '0' as the target key (ISSUE #13).
  70. * FIX: the methods for UNWATCH and DISCARD do not break anymore method
  71. chaining with Predis\MultiExecBlock.
  72. v0.6.1 (2010-07-11)
  73. * Minor internal improvements and clean ups.
  74. * New commands available in the Redis v2.2 profile (dev):
  75. - Misc. : WATCH, UNWATCH
  76. * Optional modifiers for ZRANGE, ZREVRANGE and ZRANGEBYSCORE queries are
  77. supported using an associative array passed as the last argument of their
  78. respective methods.
  79. * The LIMIT modifier for ZRANGEBYSCORE can be specified using either:
  80. - an indexed array: array($offset, $count)
  81. - an associative array: array('offset' => $offset, 'count' => $count)
  82. * The method Predis\Client::__construct() now accepts also instances of
  83. Predis\ConnectionParameters.
  84. * Predis\MultiExecBlock and Predis\PubSubContext now throw an exception
  85. when trying to create their instances using a profile that does not
  86. support the required Redis commands or when the client is connected to
  87. a cluster of connections.
  88. * Various improvements to Predis\MultiExecBlock:
  89. - fixes and more consistent behaviour across various usage cases.
  90. - support for WATCH and UNWATCH when using the current development
  91. profile (Redis v2.2) and aborted transactions.
  92. * New signature for Predis\Client::multiExec() which is now able to accept
  93. an array of options for the underlying instance of Predis\MultiExecBlock.
  94. Backwards compatibility with previous releases of Predis is ensured.
  95. * New signature for Predis\Client::pipeline() which is now able to accept
  96. an array of options for the underlying instance of Predis\CommandPipeline.
  97. Backwards compatibility with previous releases of Predis is ensured.
  98. The method Predis\Client::pipelineSafe() is to be considered deprecated.
  99. * FIX: The WEIGHT modifier for ZUNIONSTORE and ZINTERSTORE was handled
  100. incorrectly with more than two weights specified.
  101. v0.6.0 (2010-05-24)
  102. * Switched to the new multi-bulk request protocol for all of the commands
  103. in the Redis 1.2 and Redis 2.0 profiles. Inline and bulk requests are now
  104. deprecated as they will be removed in future releases of Redis.
  105. * The default server profile is "2.0" (targeting Redis 2.0.x). If you are
  106. using older versions of Redis, it is highly recommended that you specify
  107. which server profile the client should use (e.g. "1.2" when connecting
  108. to instances of Redis 1.2.x).
  109. * Support for Redis 1.0 is now optional and it is provided by requiring
  110. 'Predis_Compatibility.php' before creating an instance of Predis\Client.
  111. * New commands added to the Redis 2.0 profile since Predis 0.5.1:
  112. - Strings: SETEX, APPEND, SUBSTR
  113. - ZSets : ZCOUNT, ZRANK, ZUNIONSTORE, ZINTERSTORE, ZREMBYRANK, ZREVRANK
  114. - Hashes : HSET, HSETNX, HMSET, HINCRBY, HGET, HMGET, HDEL, HEXISTS,
  115. HLEN, HKEYS, HVALS, HGETALL
  116. - PubSub : PUBLISH, SUBSCRIBE, UNSUBSCRIBE
  117. - Misc. : DISCARD, CONFIG
  118. * Introduced client-level options with the new Predis\ClientOptions class.
  119. Options can be passed to Predis\Client::__construct in its second argument
  120. as an array or an instance of Predis\ClientOptions. For brevity's sake and
  121. compatibility with older versions, the constructor of Predis\Client still
  122. accepts an instance of Predis\RedisServerProfile in its second argument.
  123. The currently supported client options are:
  124. - profile [default: "2.0" as of Predis 0.6.0]
  125. specifies which server profile to use when connecting to Redis. This
  126. option accepts an instance of Predis\RedisServerProfile or a string
  127. that indicates the target version.
  128. - key_distribution [default: Predis\Distribution\HashRing]
  129. specifies which key distribution strategy to use to distribute keys
  130. among the servers that compose a cluster. This option accepts an
  131. instance of Predis\Distribution\IDistributionStrategy so that users
  132. can implement their own key distribution strategy. Optionally, the new
  133. Predis\Distribution\KetamaPureRing class also provides a pure-PHP
  134. implementation of the same algorithm used by libketama.
  135. - throw_on_error [default: TRUE]
  136. server errors can optionally be handled "silently": instead of throwing
  137. an exception, the client returns an error response type.
  138. - iterable_multibulk [EXPERIMENTAL - default: FALSE]
  139. in addition to the classic way of fetching a whole multibulk reply
  140. into an array, the client can now optionally stream a multibulk reply
  141. down to the user code by using PHP iterators. It is just a little bit
  142. slower, but it can save a lot of memory in certain scenarios.
  143. * New parameters for connections:
  144. - alias [default: not set]
  145. every connection can now be identified by an alias that is useful to
  146. get a certain connection when connected to a cluster of Redis servers.
  147. - weight [default: not set]
  148. allows the client to balance the keys asymmetrically across multiple
  149. servers. This might be useful when you have servers with different
  150. amounts of memory and you want to distribute the load of your keys
  151. accordingly.
  152. - connection_async [default: FALSE]
  153. estabilish connections to servers in a non-blocking way, so that the
  154. client is not blocked while the underlying resource performs the actual
  155. connection.
  156. - connection_persistent [default: FALSE]
  157. the underlying connection resource is left open when a script ends its
  158. lifecycle. Persistent connections can lead to unpredictable or strange
  159. behaviours, so they should be used with extreme care.
  160. * Introduced the Predis\Pipeline\IPipelineExecutor interface. Classes that
  161. implements this interface are used internally by the Predis\CommandPipeline
  162. class to change the behaviour of the pipeline when writing/reading commands
  163. from one or multiple servers. Here is the list of the default executors:
  164. - Predis\Pipeline\StandardExecutor
  165. Exceptions generated by server errors might be thrown depending on the
  166. options passed to the client (see "throw_on_error"). Instead, protocol
  167. or network errors always throw exceptions. This is the default executor
  168. for single and clustered connections and shares the same behaviour of
  169. Predis 0.5.x.
  170. - Predis\Pipeline\SafeExecutor
  171. Exceptions generated by server, protocol or network errors are not
  172. thrown, instead they are returned in the response array as instances of
  173. ResponseError or CommunicationException.
  174. - Predis\Pipeline\SafeClusterExecutor
  175. This executor shares the same behaviour of Predis\Pipeline\SafeExecutor
  176. but it is geared towards clustered connections.
  177. * Support for PUBSUB is handled by the new Predis\PubSubContext class, which
  178. could also be used to build a callback dispatcher for PUBSUB scenarios.
  179. * When connected to a cluster of connections, it is now possible to get a
  180. new Predis\Client instance for a single connection of the cluster by
  181. passing its alias/index to the new Predis\Client::getClientFor() method.
  182. * CommandPipeline and MultiExecBlock return their instances when invoking
  183. commands, thus allowing method chaining in pipelines and multi-exec blocks.
  184. * MultiExecBlock instances can handle the new DISCARD command.
  185. * Connections now support float values for the connection_timeout parameter
  186. to express timeouts with a microsecond resolution.
  187. * FIX: TCP connections now respect the read/write timeout parameter when
  188. reading the payload of server responses. Previously, stream_get_contents()
  189. was being used internally to read data from a connection but it looks like
  190. PHP does not honour the specified timeout for socket streams when inside
  191. this function.
  192. * FIX: The GET parameter for the SORT command now accepts also multiple key
  193. patterns by passing an array of strings. (ISSUE #1).
  194. * FIX: Replies to the DEL command return the number of elements deleted by
  195. the server and not 0 or 1 interpreted as a boolean response. (ISSUE #4).
  196. v0.5.1 (2010-01-23)
  197. * RPOPLPUSH has been changed from bulk command to inline command in Redis
  198. 1.2.1, so ListPopLastPushHead now extends InlineCommand. The old RPOPLPUSH
  199. behavior is still available via the ListPopLastPushHeadBulk class so that
  200. you can override the server profile if you need the old (and uncorrect)
  201. behaviour when connecting to a Redis 1.2.0 instance.
  202. * Added missing support for BGREWRITEAOF for Redis >= 1.2.0
  203. * Implemented a factory method for the RedisServerProfile class to ease the
  204. creation of new server profile instances based on a version string.
  205. v0.5.0 (2010-01-09)
  206. * First versioned release of Predis
